ME: Blab is going to be one of the top 3 biggest social platforms within 3 years (unless it gets bought out by Google)
YOU: What the &^%$# is BLAB??
2015 has certainly seen huge strides made in the live streaming space, and it could be argued that this year will be remembered as the one where it all came together for video live streaming apps and platforms.
PLUS, Google Hangouts is still, well….hanging around…
But potentially the biggest development of all is this seemingly innocuous grouping of 4 small squares:
CTO of Blab @FurqanR (top right) and Blab Community Manager @BrittanyMetz (bottom left) join @TylerJAnderson (bottom right), and @CarlosGil83 (top left) on an impromptu Blab session
…otherwise known as Blab.
Blab is a five month-old live stream video platform (still in Beta actually!) that allows people to come together from anywhere in the world and connect through sight and sound. Its available for free both online through their platform and through their iOS app that was just released to the App Store only days ago. Its also available to Android users through the mobile web at blab.im.
WHY IS BLAB GOING TO SUCCEED?
Blab makes connecting with anyone else directly through video and audio as easy as a couple of clicks on either desktop or mobile. As the platform develops (which its doing at a rapid rate) it will only get better since the Blab team is crowd sourcing a lot of the new additions and improvements (more on this in a minute). But most importantly…
BLAB IS ALL ABOUT DIALOGUE.
WHAT CAN I FIND ON BLAB?
Some of the Blab session titles listed at the exact moment of this post being written include:
- What AWESOME and Exciting Thing is On Your Radar This week?
- Test Session
- How to Get Started on Blab – Blab.im 101
- Name That Tune! Win A Prize!
- Legacies of Healing: Black Women That Blab
- MMA Addicted: UFC Fight Night chat
- Movie Chats w/Filmmakers and Friends
- Love Dished Up: Cooking Live
- WrenchNation Car Care Show Automotive Empowerment
So its easy to see that there’s LOTS of content, discussion and overall interaction already happening. And the sessions have been a bit all over the map, but that’s to be expected as users feel their way through the platform, and it’s NOT a bad thing. Have to love early adopters!
HOW IT WORKS
Its always better to let those who actually did the creating explain how to use something, so go here for that.
