(CLICK HERE if you already KNOW that you need to be at #SMMW17 and want to find the agenda, travel details, ticket info, etc. If not, then allow me to share with you what my experience with the event has been over the last 4 years)
Last year’s Social Media Marketing World event in San Diego was the best ever for me personally. I’ve been fortunate enough to attend each year since its inception in 2013, but I enjoyed #SMMW16 the most, for various reasons.
Getting to hang out and talk shop with so many of those that I look up to in the industry, and so many others that I’m happy to call friends is always a blast. Very rarely do this many industry people come together in this type of environment, which makes it a can’t miss.
Believe it or not I’m still mostly a paper-and-pen guy, and my hand is always sore at the end of each day as a result of learning so much to them take back and apply for clients. 2016 was no exception as there was a big focus on the fast-growing worlds of live streaming and Snapchat, along with the usual suspects Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. (and next to nothing about Google+ which was telling). Podcasting and blogging are still mainstays of course too.
The night on the Midway is always amazing. Four years in and I had still never been on certain decks of the ship (I fixed that lol). Lunchtime may be my favorite part of the day in all honesty because its hard not to run into everyone and anyone while you’re enjoying some great food. The bookstore is really useful to pick up those titles you kept meaning to grab, and even the vendors have some enticing ways (and swag) to encourage you to check out their offerings.
If you’ve been thinking about attending and haven’t done so yet, I would highly encourage you to click the image above and seriously consider going. I’m thinking Mike Stelzner and his team at Social Media Examiner will have even more planned for #SMMW2017, and its bound to be the can’t-miss event of the social media marketing year for the 5th year in a row!
See you there 🙂
